What are the new features of the new version of JobsDB.com?

In the new version of the JobsDB Job Seeker system, various new features are provided to improve job seekers' experience in job searching and application processes with better usability and greater flexibility.

    Streamlined Login Experience

Login using e-mail address instead of username
One of the greatest differences that all job seekers will first experience is the way job seekers log into the system. In the new site, job seekers will no longer login with their username. Instead, they use their registered e-mail addresses to login. One of the greatest advantages of using registered e-mail address for login is that job seekers no longer need to memorize their old-fashioned usernames, especially when most users could not register their first-choice usernames at the first place. Using e-mail address for login also helps reminding job seekers to keep their e-mail address up to date for primary contact purposes.
    Login once, use globally
In the previous versions, job seekers interested in international postings have to register and login job seeker accounts at each region. In the new site, job seekers only have to login once, and they will be able to manage their resumes, cover letters, search jobs, apply for jobs, handle resume requests and manage their account settings in all regions.

Enhanced Resume and Cover Letter Management

Create multiple resumes and cover letters
In previous versions, each job seeker account can only create one online resume using the Resume Builder, upload one resume attachment, and create one cover letter in his/her account. Now each job seeker can create up to 10 resumes and 10 cover letters in all regions. These resumes and cover letters can either be prepared online, or be uploaded from local files. This provides a greater flexibility for job seekers to apply for positions of different job natures using their tailor-made resumes and cover letters.
    Import contents from existing resumes
Whilst creating a new resume, the system allow you to import the contents of another existing resume. This provides a speedy way for job seekers to create a new resume based on an existing resume and then make further changes.
    Resume and Cover Letter Management
In order to manage multiple resumes and cover letters, job seeker will have to give them unique names. Besides creating and editing, resumes and cover letters can also be renamed; or copied as new resume / cover letter (provided that the number of resumes / cover letters has not reached the maximum limit).
    Resume Extraction Service
A resume created by uploading a local file can be extracted as plain-text so that employers can search for you more easily, provided that the resume's exposure level is set to be searchable.
Download online resumes and cover letters as PDF files
Upon online creation of resumes and cover letters, job seekers can download the PDF copies of their online resumes and cover letters for their own references.

    Improved Job Searching Features

Define more precise criteria and get more precise search results
Job seekers can specify keywords for searching by matching all of the words, exact phrase or at least one of the words. Job seekers who prefer specific company benefits may also search for jobs by benefits.
View job postings with Detailed Mode
Job seekers can view job ads by using the Detailed Mode in the Job Search Results page. This saves job seeker a lot of time because they don't have to open the job ads one by one in order to view the most basic information of the job.
Add Personal Notes to Favourite Jobs
If a job seeker is interested in a job ad, in addition to saving the job to his/her MyJobsDB Saved Jobs list, he/she can specify his/her own comments about the job by using the Personal Notes feature.
    Multiple Job Alerts
Compared to previous versions which only one job alert can be subscribed, job seekers who are eager to look for jobs may subscribe to more than one job alert with different job search criteria. Up to 10 job alerts across all regions are supported.
Subscribe to RSS feeds based on job search results
Besides job alert e-mails, job seekers who are familiar with RSS feed subscription may search for jobs based on their own criteria and subscribe to the job search results using their favorite RSS aggregators.

    State-of-the-art Job Application Process

Batch Job View and Batch Job Application
You may select multiple job ads on the job search results page to view and/or apply for them in one go. This saves you time to open the job ads and read / apply for them one by one.
Apply for jobs on mobile devices (country-specific)
With the increasing popularity of web applications on mobile devices, the JobsDB Mobile Site supports simple yet effective job search and job application functions that job seekers can always search and apply for their favorite jobs on the go.

What are the features of the new version of JobsDB RMS?

In version 8.0 of the JobsDB Recruitment Management System (RMS), various new features are available to improve employers' experience in job and candidate management with better usability and greater flexibility.

Enhanced job posting and job management features
With version 8.0, you may make use of the new job posting and job management features to make your job postings more attractive and your recruitment process more efficient and effective.
Specify the job benefits of your company
During job posting, you can now specify the job benefits that your company offers in order to attract more candidates to apply for your jobs.
Show the company location on map (country-specific)
You can also specify the location of your company by typing its full address. Your company location will then be displayed on a map when job seekers see your job postings.
More job posting enhancement options (country-specific)
To let your job postings stand out from others, you may choose to purchase and use additional job posting enhancement options, such as enhanced listing, customized ad template, auto refresh, company job listing and buy-1-get-1-free. These options not only enhance the appearance, functionality and exposure opportunities of your job postings, but also provide a more professional impression of your job postings on job seekers.
One-step candidate filter during job posting
With the help of candidate filter, you can now filter out candidates that do not obviously meet your specified criteria and concentrate on handling job applications of those candidates that match your needs.
    The user-friendly job management interface
The job management module has been redesigned to provide employers a more straightforward and user-friendly interface. You can now easily group different job postings into folders, repost jobs, edit jobs and view the job applications and approved resume requests received on the same screen.
    Revamped candidate management
In the previous version of RMS, job posting records, candidates' job applications, resumes and resume requests etc. were all grouped under a "job folder" for centralized management.
In version 8.0, the folder-centric approach is replaced by a more interoperable design. Without the "folder" boundary, you can now view all job applications and approved resumes in different pages and perform batch operations upon them directly.
More tools for better candidate management
You can now make use of our newest tools to classify candidates and their job applications, give them scores or stick different "stickers" on them. By doing so, you can then filter the records by status, score or sticker to view them separately for easier management.
    The state-of-the-art Candidate Search engine
The Candidate Search engine has been upgraded to provide more candidate-related fields for employers to perform more precise candidate search, hence increasing the rate of matching the right candidates to the jobs.
Save your candidate search criteria for later use
If you are performing the same candidate search on a routine basis, you may save your candidate search criteria for later use so that you do not have to specify your criteria all over again when you perform the same search next time.
    Easier account management
Easy sharing of resources between main account and sub-account
    Improved invoices and usage reports
You can now view your account summary, invoices, package purchase history, job posting credit usage report and resume request credit usage report within a few clicks.

What's the difference between status, stickers and scoring? Which one should I use?

In RMS, the statuses of all job candidates are marked Unprocessed. You can change them to your own defined statuses, e.g. Pending Interview, Interviewed, Unqualified, Offer Accepted, Hired, etc.

In addition to status, employers can put stickers on job application and approved resume request records to better describe them. Unlike status that employers can only classify one status for each job application / approved resume request, employers can put multiple stickers on each job application / approved resume request. Each employer account will be given 10 stickers of different colors, and employers can give their own definition to their stickers. Some examples of stickers include Good Written English, Responsive, Most Requirements Met, etc.

You can also give a job application / approved resume request a score, ranging from 0 to 10. You can give your own definition to the scores.

What is "Blacklisted candidates"? How does it work?

Sometimes employers receive repeated job applications from unsuitable candidates. To minimize this, employers may choose to blacklist these candidates so that their job applications (and approved resume requests, although this case is rare) are no longer displayed on the All Applicants page.

To blacklist candidate(s), check the box(es) of the job application / approved resume request record(s) on Candidate Management Job Application / Approved Resume Request.age, and then click the Blacklist button.

Verify the candidate names you selected, and then click the Confirm button to confirm the blacklist action.

    What does Candidate Alert do?

If you often perform candidate search with the same criteria and on a regular basis, you may save your search criteria for future use. You can further ask the system to run the saved search criteria and send you the search results via e-mail regularly. These e-mails are known as Candidate Alerts.

To get started, click the Save Search button on the Search Results page, specify the name for the search criteria, check the E-mail me candidates matching this criteria box, specify the frequency of receiving e-mails, e-mail address for receiving the e-mails and the date when the system should stop sending you the e-mails, and then click the Save button.
