Hong Kong Personal Chef Ltd runs both Invisible Kitchen (Gourmet Catering Company) and Hong Kong personal Chef (Private chef service). Both brands are dedicated to cooking with great ingredients, using a variety of new and traditional techniques to create amazing experiences for our customers, while driving and feeding our chef's inquisitive nature and exploring new challenges and experimentation.
Our operations include canape parties, buffets, catered BBQs, corporate dining, dinner parties and special events.

Invisible kitchen is a gourmet catering company owned and run by a British chef. We put food quality & customer service before profit. Our main menus are: Canape/ cocktail, BBQ, buffet and bespoke events. We also run the private chef brand, ‘Hong Kong Personal Chef’ offering dinner parties and private chef services.
In our kitchens, everything is made from scratch. We use well-sourced, natural ingredients and we cook them with attention to detail.
We are now searching for a strong leader to join our committed team as Head Chef, and grow with our expanding operations. This role will be filled by someone with a proven track record as head Chef (or as a senior Sous chef in a large kitchen with very high standards)
Job Title Head Chef
Job Level Senior Management Level. Reporting to Executive Chef. Working with Office Manager & Marketing & Sales Manager. Overseeing all kitchen staff.
The Head Chef at invisible Kitchen will lead the kitchen team to deliver consistently high standards while controlling all aspects of kitchen management to a very high standard.
Until now, the founder/ Owner has filled the Head Chef role, but is moving to an Executive chef position. The new Head Chef will work alongside the Exec. Chef, but will have sole control of managing daily kitchen operations, and a high level of input into Culinary developments at invisible kitchen.
The Head Chef must of course be a passionate and skilled chef with impeccable standards, but must also be a true leader who can inspire, develop and lead others.
Duties & Responsibilities
To manage all aspects of daily kitchen activities and offsite event operations
To educate, mentor and inspire the junior chefs to succeed and achieve results as a team
To communicate clearly and positively with other senior managers, staff, customers and other stakeholders
To manage and delegate all aspects of Ordering and stock control
To manage and delegate all aspects of Kitchen Hygiene
To maintain recipe & presentation specifications and general food standards
To be actively involved in new product development, and to manage the research and development process
To assist with media events and press work- photo shoots, filming etc
To be an ambassador for our brand- there will be lots of client contact. You must be knowledgeable and confident
What you need
-Very strong leadership skills and experience managing teams
-To work with a friendly, polite & positive can-do attitude, and be a positive influence on others
- Very high standards and an eye for detail.
-Good knowledge of modern techniques and ingredients.
-Good knowledge of Food science and nutrition.
-Good English speaking, reading & writing ability.
-Excellent food hygiene and kitchen safety knowledge (Hygiene manager certificate preferred)
- Excellent communication skills
-10+ years’ work experience in good quality western kitchens
What would help you
-A basic level of Cantonese (not essential- our company is English speaking throughout)
-To be up-to-date with modern cuisine trends (and experiment with new techniques) while having a solid understanding of the classics.
-Experience working in private events/functions (private parties, dinner parties, canape events, banquets etc.)
What we offer
The salary will be around 25-30k per month (based on experience) for a 55 hour, 5-day week, straight shifts only, overtime paid at 1.25x normal rate, with opportunity for annual pay-rise every year (up to 8.5%), up to 15 days holiday in 1st year (18 days in 2nd year), professional development opportunities, uniform and laundry service, medical benefits, paid lunch break, MPF & staff discount.
