Part-time General Clerk II (Ref. 160002CJ) (closing date: December 13, 2016)
Applicants should have (i) completed secondary education; (ii) Grade E/Level 2 or above in at least 5 subjects in HKCEE, including Chinese and English (Syllabus B); OR any combination of results in at least 5 HKDSE subjects (including Level 2 or above in Chinese and English): Level 2 or above in NSS subjects, “Attained” or above in ApL subjects (subject to a maximum of 2 subjects), and Grade E or above in Other Language subjects; (iii) fast and accurate typing (English and Chinese); (iv) at least 2 years’ work experience in providing clerical services or support for academic programmes; (v) good computer skills in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and graphic editing software such as Photoshop; (vi) a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua; (vii) good interpersonal skills, courteous service manner, a strong sense of responsibility and self-motivation; (viii) excellent teamwork skills; and (ix) the ability to meet tight deadlines, perform multi-tasking, prioritise tasks and work independently with minimum supervision. Duties include (a) providing general administrative and operational support for the Department and its self-financed programme, including handling enquiries, assisting in student admission, preparing documents for meetings, inventory keeping, maintaining various databases, etc.; (b) assisting in the promotion of academic programmes locally, in the Mainland and overseas, where applicable; (c) organising academic events, including seminars, workshops and programme-related activities; and (d) performing other tasks as assigned by the Department Chairman or his/her delegates. Appointment will be made on a 3-month contract commencing in January 2017, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement. Shortlisted candidates will be required to sit for a writing and/or Microsoft Office applications test.
