[Appointment period: twelve months initially, with possibility of further appointment]
The appointee will assist the project leader in the project – “Holistic support for ethnic minority students in local kindergartens for effective learning of Chinese”. The project is funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club aiming at the establishment of a Community Learning Centre and development of an e-resources platform for non-Chinese speaking kindergarten children. He/She will be required to:
(a) assist the project leader in managing the IT/AV development and operation of the Community Learning Centre, and the e-Platform project;
(b) assist the project leader in the overall planning, decision making and management of IT resources;
(c) manage a team of technical staff to provide IT/AV services to end-users;
(d) evaluate, implement, administer, review and conduct enhancement of hardware, software and AV products;
(e) prepare documentation and user guide;
(f) manage inventory items;
(g) liaise between the department and external parties to effectively deliver technical services; and
(h) perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader or his/her delegates.
The appointee may be required to work outside normal office hours, including Saturdays and Sundays, and outside the campus.
Applicants should have:
(a) a master’s degree in Information Technology, Computing or a related discipline; or a good honours degree in the said disciplines with at least three years’ relevant work experience in e-Platform management and AV support services;
(b) hands-on experience in implementing and supporting web-based applications with critical and heavy loading;
(c) the ability in multitasking, and be resulted oriented; and
(d) the ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English and Chinese.
