Our client is a global logistics and freight forwarding company. The Route Development Manager will work with the Global Account Team to maintain and generate new opportunities for the relevant trade lane.
Report to the Head of Tradelane, the route development manager is responsible for growing market share and sales in the designated route. You will be the expert for the designated region and route supporting the local sales team and overseas counterparts. You will need to maintain regular contact with the clients either in person or via conference call for overseas contacts. You will also supporting the direct sales activities with the local sales and promoting the service to the clients. You work with management and develop the business plan monthly, quarterly and annual to meet business objectives.
- Minimum 5 years successful international freight forwarding sales experience
- Extensive knowledge of import/export processes and regulations
- Excellent organizational and problem solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Detail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines
- Self-motivated, able to work in a team and independently
- Strong negotiating skills
- Able to travel extensive domestically and internationally
