Tutors coach students by providing innovative and engaging lessons to encourage independent learning. They assess the requirements of learners to develop lesson plans. Tutors can choose to work part-time or full time to deliver one on one and/or group classes to students from home, online, or at a coaching centre/institute. It is an ideal role for students, graduates, those who want to be self-employed, or anyone who wants to generate some additional income in their free time using their education and skills.

Depending on their qualification and experience, tutors can decide whether they want to teach primary, secondary, undergraduate or postgraduate students. They may be specialised in one or more disciplines including but not limited to Academics (physics, chemistry, French, history, geography, maths, English, computers etc.); Sports (fitness, swimming, sailing, skiing, skateboarding, tennis, etc.); Arts & Leisure (guitar, piano, singing, pottery, painting, culinary etc.).

Tutors need to be highly organized, patient, and punctual with passion for their subject and sharing  the knowledge to be successful in their role. They often have the freedom to set their own charges and work schedule.
