An Information Technology Support Officer is responsible for the maintenance and improvement of an organisation's computer systems. Tasks and duties
- Assisting users in troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software and network-related issues.
- Installing, configuring and updating computer systems and software and providing user guidance.
- Documenting incidents and service requests, and maintaining logs of hardware and software problems.
- Performing maintenance, testing and repairs on various IT equipment and devices.
- Assisting in network administration tasks, such as backups, security monitoring and user account management.
- Educating the organisation's staff on IT procedures and best practices.
- Staying updated with current technologies and recommending new tools and techniques when appropriate.
