- Preparing cost plans to enable design teams to produce practical designs for construction projects.
- Providing advice on procurement strategy and drawing up contracts for construction projects.
- Analysing the outcome of projects and writing detailed progress reports.
- Evaluating completed work and arranging payments to contractors.
- Assessing and managing potential risks that could impact the cost of a project.
How to become a Quantity Surveyor
Quantity Surveyors manage all aspects of the contractual and financial elements of construction projects. A degree in a related field and a solid knowledge of the construction process is required.
- 1.Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction or related disciplines.
- 2.Working experience in a related field and a deep understanding of construction processes, cost estimation and project management.
- 3.A certification from being a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) or the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS) is an advantage.
- 4.Strong numerical and problem-solving skills.
