我們聽一首新歌時,假如最初10秒的前奏很沉悶,往後可能已沒興致聽下去了。其實僱主看求職信也是一樣,HR每天隨時收到幾百個求職申請,你的求職信又能否吸引收信者看下去呢?以下分享一些小秘訣,幫大家「起個靚頭」吧!
其實每次求職,我們都先要問自己三個問題:
了解自己的賣點後,我們便可以在求職信的開首中,運用不同的技巧去推銷自己了。
假如你在上一份工作的成績彪炳,開宗明義地列舉出來,再加上一些數據作助證,往往是最引人注目的。好像:
“As a Social Media Specialist for XYZ Company, I manage and develop the company’s social media presence to help drive engagement and brand awareness with consumers. By implementing new social media marketing campaigns, I have doubled our audience on Facebook and increased 30% of inbound traffic for the company’s website in the past year.”
當然不是每位求職者都有亮麗的工作成就可以分享,這樣就要多多列舉自己擁有的相關技能,以表示自己了解工作的內容。撰寫時可參考招聘廣告,使用較常見的技能關鍵字,不要使用生僻和太專門的字眼。好像:
“With 10 years of experience in public relations within diverse industries, I have honed my skills in media relations, social media, community engagement and leading a team. Equally solid are my proficiency in written and verbal communications, as well as strong interpersonal and organisational skills. By combining these strengths, I believe I am the best candidate for the position of Assistant Communications Manager.”
所謂「識人好過識字」,如果公司內部有人推薦你加入,一般來說已經「贏在起跑線」。即使不是直接推薦,也不妨在當事人知悉的情況下,在求職信中提及。好像:
“Fanny Li, one of your sales manager, has informed me about the opening in your sales department. She has told me great things about the company and recommended I contact you about the position.”
求職信跟履歷表的不同之處是,你可以在求職信中自由發揮你的個性和想加入公司的意向。如果你注意到公司的新動向,又能表達到如何吸引到自己,也能讓HR感受到你求職時有做好功課。好像:
“I recently read the feature story in the Hong Kong Post about your partnership with the not-for-profit organisation ABC. This has inspired me to seek employment with your company and I would like to apply for the position of Corporate Communications Executive.”
即使你沒有驕人往績,沒有豐富經驗,沒有業內人脈……也好,你也可以表達你對應徵工作的熱誠和自信。畢竟,僱主最希望聘請到的是一位積極樂觀、願意不斷學習和進步的好員工。
“I was excited to find an opening in IT with your company because of your work with data analytics. I am the perfect candidate for this position because it combines my expertise with IT and data analytics.”
