Human Resource (HR) Managers are HR generalists with business and management competencies. They are responsible for administration of a spectrum of HR disciplines including Compensation and Benefits, Recruitment and Selection, Labour Law Compliance, Training and Development, Employee Relations, and Maintaining a safe environment. The seniority and scope of an HR Manager role depends on the structure and size of the organisation. However, the role typically involves leading and supporting the execution of HR programs; managing employee relations issues; providing strategic guidance on company policies, guidelines and regulatory framework to assigned departments; and ensuring legal compliance in execution of HR policies and procedure.

Career Summary/ Objective

  • Include a career summary, at the top of the page in 2-4 lines after your name and contact details, that sums up your career history and describes who you are professionally focusing on your key achievements and skills of relevance to the listed position.

Example:

A compassionate Human Resource Manager with 8 years of extensive experience across HR disciplines and up-to-date knowledge of labour laws and HK employment ordinance. Contributed towards 60% increase in retention rate of high potential employees by addressing their concerns on time and resolving issues through effective communication.


Emphasize on essential points in Work Experience

  • Meticulously read the job description for the listed position to understand how well you fit into the role. Tailor your CV for each position using appropriate key words and most relevant information for respective roles to get past the applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Share experience if you have managed talent acquisition processes including sourcing, testing, interviewing, recruiting, and job fairs etc. Share numbers wherever applicable. For example- Recruited, trained and motivated a staff of 20 employees.
  • Emphasize on your communication, attention to details, accuracy and other important skills while describing your prior work experience. For example- Ensured that job descriptions, offer letters, contracts, and other HR reports are clear, up-to-date and accurate while maintaining compliance with relevant laws and regulations for all positions.
