Job Description

A prestigious bank is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to supervise the day to day operations and duties of their accounts payable team with a key focus on the governance of accounts payable activities through effective support, analysis and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will also be responsible for ensuring a highly level of productivity and accuracy in the processing and payment of accounts. This role would be offered as an initial contract for 12 months with a potential for extension.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all payables are processed accurately in accordance to policies and comply with accounting standard
  • Anticipate and manage financial and reputational risk by directing focused effort for operational execution of accounts payable activities through data analysis, insights and recommendations
  • Implement and deliver process improvements including reporting enhancements ensuring effective operational performance
  • Manage provision of monthly compliance activities including balance sheet accruals and reconciliation and cash flow forecasting in line with month end timetable and policies
  • Assist in the implementation of systems and facilitate the training of internal users
  • Ensure policies, work instruction and training documentation are maintained

Requirements

  • Degree qualification in accounting
  • In-depth experience of managing an accounts payable operational team in financial institutions
  • Excellent command in spoken and written English, Cantonese and Mandarin
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and developing supporting teams in an environment of change across complex and diverse businesses with varied stakeholder groups and multiple locations
  • Highly organized the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • The drive to achieve results within tight time constraints and conflicting priorities
