The administrative person will be the first contact for inquiries and questions from parents. Therefore, the ideal candidate will be comfortable speaking with people, answering questions, and explaining our program and procedures. On the job training for understanding our business will be provided. S/he will assist the Executive Director in running the normal everyday activities of the school, aid in the planning of special events, assisting in making concert programs and event announcements, maintain our social media presence, invoicing and assisting in basic record keeping, maintaining class lists and attendance, some basic arts and crafts, and other duties as needed. If musical, there may be opportunities to assist with classes as a fun option.
Hours: Ideally, we are seeking a full-time person but will consider part-time if the candidate is the right fit.
Full-Time: 40-48hrs/5-5.5days. Tuesdays to Fridays 10-7. Saturdays are required 9am-3:30pm (to 5pm on concert days). In-person Monday afternoons may be added in August 2019 as required, we are currently closed on Mondays but some emails and social media posting are needed ca. 2hrs work.This light admin can be done from home if desired. Some flexibility in hours is available Wednesdays to Fridays. Salary: $12K+ based on experience. Room for salary increases as school grows.
Part-time: ca. 25-30hrs/4-5days. Tuesdays 10-6/7 and Saturdays 9am-3:30pm (to 5pm on concert days) are required. Monday, Wednesdays to Friday flexible starting at 1pm. Hourly wage: $50-$75/hr based on experience.
Must like children.
Excellent command of English and Cantonese is required.
Excellent English writing needed.
Previous Arts Admin experience is an asset.
Must be a self-directed, independent worker and be comfortable working alone or semi-alone.

Social media and computer skills are required.
A musical background is an asset, but not required. Must enjoy western classical violin and piano music.
