Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • To assist Principal Manager (Nursing) in planning and commissioning of designated unit(s) to meet statutory requirement, international standards, hospital direction and department goals
  • To develop professional standards, operational guidelines, work processes and quality improvement programmes to ensure safe delivery of patient care and smooth operation of the unit(s)
  • To lead and supervise a nursing and support service team within the unit(s) and to act as resource and referral agent on clinical expertise
  • To manage and respond to client needs proactively and to conduct daily operation activities to enhance teamwork and safety culture within the unit
  • To assist in developing departmental budget and managing resources; including manpower, space, facilities and consumable items
  • To provide safe quality clinical care for patients and develop team competence to deliver effective care and treatments through improving clinical/technical knowledge, skill and expertise

 

Job Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and a Master Degree or above in Leadership, Management, Healthcare Studies or equivalent
  • A valid Registered Nurse Practising Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Hong Kong
  • A post-registration specialty qualification in Paediatric Nursing
  • A valid certificate in Paediatrics Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • At least 8 years post-registration experience and 5 years in general paediatric ward setting
  • Experience in supervising a nursing team or commissioning of healthcare facilities is preferred
  • Excellent people management and communication skills
  • Demonstrable personal commitment in providing safe and quality patient care services
  • Proficient in project management and quality improvement processes
  • Shift duties required

 

Compensation and Employment Terms

Appointment will be made on a 3 year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
