Job Description

FINANCE OFFICE

The appointee is expected to assist the Finance Manager in supervising a team of five accounting staff to carry out the following duties:

(a) perform payment processing and manage the payment of invoices from suppliers/vendors; and oversee the accounts payable and related management reports;

(b) work with internal and external parties for monitoring the risks and returns of the University’s investment portfolios;

(c) handle treasury functions including cash management, fund management, bank administration etc;

(d) forecast cash flow positions, available funds and prepare business plans for new investments/projects of the University;

(e) liaise with tax agents, legal advisors, banks, master custodian, external auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with relevant laws, rules and regulations;

(f) work closely with user departments to enhance work processes;

(g) assist in accounting operation, financial management and budgeting; and

(h) perform ad-hoc tasks as assigned.

 Applicants should have/be:

(a) a degree in Accounting or equivalent with minimum of seven years of experience, including five years of supervisory experience, gained from sizeable company (Big 4 experience is a plus);

(b) a qualified accountant with membership of a recognised professional accounting body;

(c) strong analytical mind, good interpersonal skills, versatile problem solving skills and willingness to accept new challenges; 

(d) relevant work experience in handling payment processing, treasury functions and Oracle financial system will definitely be an advantage;

(e) good numerical sense and detailed-minded in planning/execution;

(f) strong leadership and organisational skills in coaching, motivating and retaining talent;

(g) ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines; and

(h) good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua).

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test.

The successful candidate will work on the Tsuen Wan Campus of the University.

Reference salary range: HK$38,000 - HK$60,000 per month

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
