Job Description

Globally recognised as one of the largest multi-jurisdictional law firms.  The HK office has been continuously expanding, and they have now recognised a need for a new headcount in their finance division.  The Assistant Finance Manager is responsible for the financial management of the Hong Kong office duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.  The role reports directly to the Regional Finance Manager in Hong Kong.

This role is perfect for those looking for a step up in their career.  My client is after someone who is energetic, detail minded, and experienced in Accounting principles.

There will be a team of 3-5 people to supervise on a day-to-day financial and accounting operation.  He/she will also be responsible for providing technical expertise and support to other team members.

The Role:

  • Responsible for the basic day to day transactional aspect of the division
  • Billing - analysis, reporting, and ad hoc billing projects.
  • Accounts Receivables – Aging reports, monitoring credit control, provide accounting technical support, provide cash inflow summary report
  • Accounts Payable – Review of AP vouchers, monitoring all input, review bank reconciliation and petty cash register.  Review monthly 3rd party payments
  • Other – General ledgering and Journal preparation.  Assist in yearly budgeting, support to company profit tax returns.  Other ad-hoc duties may be requested

Education and Experience:

  • CA, ACA, CPA with minimum of 3-5 years post qualification experience, preferably in auditing/professional firm or legal sector.  Experience in a financial control function and auditing would be ideal.
  • In-depth understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles, detailed knowledge of International Accounting Standards. 
  • Excellent communication skills and must also be able to work accurately, paying close attention to detail, particularly during times of pressure, with the ability to effectively manage workloads and meet deadlines. 
  • Windows -Microsoft Word -Microsoft Excel – Outlook – AdEx and other accounting systems.  Advanced users of Excel is preferred
