Job Description

Department: Inflight Service Delivery
Reports to: Employee Relations and Bases Manager (CX)

This job holder will represent the Company in a positive and professional manner to enable a clear channel to understand the issues of the cabin crew community and unions both in Hong Kong and outport. He/she will support the relationship between the various unions both in Hong Kong and outport and will also support the outport bases integration with Hong Kong for both Cathay Pacific and Cathay Dragon.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations

  • Assist and follow up with union matters and queries
  • Assist with the logistics of the union meetings and follow up with research that may be required
  • Attend relevant union meetings and develop a positive relationship with all unions
  • Assist administrative tasks at union meetings (such as note taking)
  • Monitor and keep accurate records of union grievances and solutions implemented
  • Responsible for a comprehensive data base of union agreements
  • Liaise with different stakeholders to ensure agreements are implemented smoothly and monitor the result

Outport Bases

  • Ensure alignment of policies and practices at the outport bases including but not limited to; promotion, recruitment, roster practices etc.
  • Assist base management with compliance and with changes to Hong Kong policies and ensure integration
  • Review and improve the workflow processes relevant to the outport bases on a regular basis
  • Provide support to base office teams as required
  • Participate in cabin crew based recruitment and promotion process (if required)

Other responsibilities

  • Further develop wherever possible a connection with Inflight Service Delivery team in Hong Kong for the various outport Cabin Crew communities being aware of any sensitivities
  • Assist with ongoing development of operational and People functions to ensure systems, practices and policies are efficient and productivity is ensured; e.g. roster production
  • Monitoring and tracking of Cabin Crew feedback channels and crew sentiment online and offline
  • To assist with major projects related to both Hong Kong and outport based cabin crew
  • Deputise when required for the Employee Relations and Bases Manager

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of them are in the airline industry, cabin crew experience will be prefered
  • Experience in a unionised work environment
  • Tertiary Education or equivalent in Human Resources or related subjects
  • Good understanding of Cabin Crew operational environment and standards (safety, service, etc)
  • Understanding of labour related legal issues in various jurisdictions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese
  • Strong analytical and interpretation of data in to actionable insights
  • Proficient in usage of office suite e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, MS Word
