This position offers the successful applicant an opportunity to join the Press Office which is primarily responsible for driving media strategies to advance the SFC’s policies and to enhance the public understanding of the SFC’s role in protecting investors and maintaining market quality through its regulatory actions and initiatives.    

Reporting to the Director of Press Office and working closely with other members of the team, key responsibilities encompass:

  • Producing a daily summary of media reports and ad-hoc news bulletins for internal consumption;
  • Identifying trends, attitudes and opinions in the public by closely monitoring and analysing media coverage of SFC-related issues;   
  • Managing media enquiries and organizing media events; 
  • Collaborating with senior members of the team and executives across the divisions in formulating and executing media strategies;          
  • Managing production and dissemination of media-related materials, including drafting and editing press releases.


  • A good understanding of the operation Hong Kong’s financial market, including an appreciation of the regulatory framework for the financial services industry.
  • A tertiary education or higher, preferably in journalism or communication.   
  • At least three years of solid experience in corporate communication and/or media relations, with an excellent aptitude for “news sense”, an eye for detail, and capable of  applying critical thinking to analysis of media coverage of regulatory issues.      
  • Excellent writing skills including high proficiency in editing English and Chinese media-related materials; fluency in Putonghua an added advantage.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills; a good team player; amenable  to working outside office hours; and above all, a high degree of personal integrity.
