Job Description


  • Assist Merchandiser / Senior Merchandiser on implementing all aspects of the department strategy to deliver all KPIs including shipment and sales participation targets
  • Understand the use of Periodic Shipment Report in the management of shipment position of the department
  • Support Merchandiser / Senior Merchandiser in the sourcing processes, administrative work and documentations filing, from supplier engagement, supplier set up through to shipment delivery
  • Liaise with suppliers on quotation sheets submission and ensuring samples are delivered to our UK colleagues on a timely basis
  • Support the order management process from purchase order to shipment delivery; maintain accurate purchase order records and critical path trackers, monitoring delivery and flagging potential risk on a timely manner
  • Assist in the sealing and approval process from order through to delivery with accurate record keeping
  • Establish strong communication with UK & Asia colleagues and suppliers via weekly progress meetings, e-mails, SKYPE and trips, etc.
  • Attend weekly progress meetings with cross functional colleagues in Asia, UK colleagues and suppliers to provide a  clear visibility of order status
  • Have a clear understanding of our operating procedures and be familiar with all necessary systems and our ways-of-working
  • Understand our business vision and goal and play a positive role in making Sainsbury’s Asia a great place to work


  • 1-2 years working experience in Merchandising is preferred but not limited to.
  • Good written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin)
  • Good communication skills
  • University degree and above is prefer
