Job Description

Assistant Project Manager (Less experience applications will be considered as Project Coordinator)

Scope:

Responsible for most projects within the IT space. This role will ensure that work is delivered on time, on budget and meeting the project scope. Co-ordination of various ongoing and future projects. The role is varied with plenty of scope for development and will help the project teams to deliver a quality IS service to the firm. The successful applicant will need to become familiar with the subject matter of various projects rather than just manage the activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain project plans, status reports, issue log and meeting minutes
  • Collaborate with internal teams to design, develop and implement projects
  • Vendor management. Draft, review and negotiate contracts and agreements
  • Proactively drive and deliver projects according to project milestones within the agreed budget and timeline
  • Ensure project risks & issues have appropriate mitigation plan and lead action owners to the closure stage
  • Ensure consistent communication to all stakeholders across all levels on project status, issues and risk reporting
  • Deliver quality project documentation with ability to articulate complex technical information in concise ways
  • Chair project meetings and facilitate large group discussion and workshop
  • Mobilize large teams and drive both internal and external parties commit to their work responsibility and project deadline
  • Follow standard operating procedures. Ensuring project governance, tools and techniques, best practices are applied

Hiring Requirements:

  • University degree holder in Information Technology or related disciplines
  • Minimum 2 years project management experience, preferably in infrastructure (networks and system admin) and accounting systems implementation
  • Ability to communicate risks and issues clearly and concisely and to support management with the preparation of action plans
  • Ability to work well with employees and user community at all levels of the company, especially with key project stakeholders and management
  • Strong analytical mindset and able to manage complexity with good problem solving skills
  • Strong communication and people skills, enjoy hosting and presenting in front of big group
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferable
  • Experience in using Elite 3E or Aderant Expert would be an advantage
  • Well organized, high attention to detail and attentive to risk
  • Passionate about building a career in IT project management. Go-getter and self-driven character is important
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Cantonese
