Associate Scientist/Scientist/Senior Scientist

Primary responsibilities:
- Execute and support development of novel pharmaceutical formulations, in line with business priorities from concept development to clinical manufacturing and assist with technology transfer at the intended commercial site.
- Develop analytical methods and transfer to internal Quality Control (QC) laboratories or Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs)
- Apply leading-edge science to perform physico-chemical characterization, and bio-analytical measurements of pharmaceutical products and drug delivery systems.
- Utilize technical process knowledge to meet regulatory requirements appropriate for stage of development
- Maintain precise experimental records; issue test methods and reports; maintains experimental and invention records to protect scientific discoveries.
- Prepare study reports and present project updates to team and other business functions
- Maintain awareness of current literature to ensure the team is kept up-to-date with the state-of-the-art of the technologies relevant to the team’s functional areas
- Liaise with other R&D teams, contract research organizations (CROs) and collaborators in pre-clinical studies
- Gain competence to lead one or more projects in support of business needs
- Provide coaching to junior members of the teams
Education requirement:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Analytical Chemistry or related disciplines is a must
- A PhD degree in related field with a degree with industry experience would be an advantage
Qualifications:
- Strong hands-on experience in formulation development (especially solid-dosage form) and key analytical assays; good understanding of formulation sciences is required;
- Experience in supporting drug product process transfers to clinical manufacturing for all phases of development
- Strong ethics, integrity, and credibility;
- Produce quality deliverables/materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage multiple projects;
- Good team player, dynamic, and hardworking;
- Excellent command of both English and Chinese, both oral (including Putonghua in the latter case) and in writing, is a pre-requisite;
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication (both oral & written) and inter-personal skills;
- Organized, reliable, effective and efficient;
- Discreet and good judgment in handling/responding to confidential and sensitive information;
- Be able and be willing to roll-up one’s sleeves to adapt to this time and age of maximizing one’s own and the overall corporate efficiency / effectiveness / competitiveness with the support of updated information technology available in the market;
- Accurate, and very detail oriented;
- Proactive, independent (including independent correspondences by electronic mail &/or in hard copy) and be able to prioritize (not only for oneself but also for the affected colleagues) and manage multiple tasks with a strong sense of responsibility for completing tasks;
- Mature, results oriented with international mindset and strong personal drive to take initiative and get things done;
- Excellent hands-on working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint; be able to independently prepare and execute presentations, reports, graphs, charts, spreadsheets, etc.;
- Good presentation skill; and
- Willingness to travel.
