Job Description

Overview

The Contract Finance Consultant position reports to Finance Manager and primarily supports Wells Fargo Bank Hong Kong Branch; and, mainly responsible for month-end closing, balance sheet and profit and loss accounts substantiation/ reconciliations

 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for month-end closing, Balance sheet and Profit and loss accounts substantiation/ reconciliations for Hong Kong Branch;
  • Participates actively in the full scope of month-end closing process;
  • Responsible for updating/reviewing transfer pricing model for respective regions;
  • Coordinates and manages internal audits exercises and compliance testing, and liaise with auditors independently as and where necessary;
  • Responsible for development of financial processes to manage and control the business initiatives in accordance with enterprise’s policies and local requirements;
  • Ensures updated documentation is properly in place for all work flow processes and policies and procedures;
  • Develops and maintains relationships with operational units (tax, legal, operations etc.), as well as business units, to ensure timely response on new development, initiatives, reporting requirements and any ad hoc matters;
  • Builds upon or establishes additional controls to ensure proper segregation of duties;
  • Identifies and understands the business funding needs, working closely with capital funding and regulatory groups to monitor and ensure compliances of key ratios (Liquidity, Debt to equity);
  • Supports systems implementation, special projects & ad hoc requests as they arise

 

Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant, background in audit with experience in banking industry prefer
  • Experiences in multi currencies accounting, reporting and financial closing;
  • Knowledge and experience in HKMA banking returns and transfer pricing
  • Ability to work with various levels of management and cross-functional, cross-cultural teams;
  • Understanding of differences between US GAAP, IFRS and varies country GAAPs is preferable;
  • A team player with strong multi-tasking, interpersonal and communication skills, plus a proactive attitude are essential;
  • Prior project management experience is preferred;
  • Good command of spoken and written English is required;
  • Knowledge of Essbase, Oracle G/L, usage of macros will be an asset.
