Development Planning and Feasibility Manager – Corporate Office

Headquartered in Hong Kong, Wharf Hotels is the hotel management company for Niccolo and Marco Polo Hotels. The expanding hotel group is seeking a Development Planning and Feasibility Manager with solid experience in providing insights to support the decision making process of various disciplines within the organization such as Business Development, Sales & Marketing and Operations at the Corporate Office in Hong Kong. Assisting the Group Director Business Development, the Associate will assist in producing in-depth market and economic evaluations of potential business opportunities in new, existing markets and long-term growth strategy at Wharf Hotels.

Your Skills: 

Hotel Financial Analysis and Underwriting

  • Carry out market research and competitive assessment through conducting desktop research, field work, site inspection and interviews
  • Formulate facilities programme recommendations
  • Author market study report

Data Review & Research 

  • Gather and maintain industry and competitor intelligence
  • Liaise and support various disciplines within the organization such as Revenue Management and Finance for existing property financial/ operating intelligence
  • Maintain team analytical models and other team resource-sharing/ technology platform

Business Strategy Support

  • Case studies for repositioning and renovation
  • Support the creation of related decision-making tools (i.e. development strategies, brand recommendations, etc.)
  • Review projects post opening and other development strategies; draw learnings and recommend best practices going forward

You are:

  • At least 5 years of work experience in hospitality, real estate consulting, and/or financial analysis.
  • In-depth knowledge of the hospitality real estate industry, including hotel development planning and feasibility.
  • Good quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
  • Strong Excel and financial modelling, written and verbal presentation skills.
  • Ability to effectively persuade and support a position in a professional manner.
  • Exceptional critical thinking, sound judgment, and strong business acumen.
  • Keen attention-to-detail, high degree of initiative and resourcefulness, as well as a service-oriented attitude.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
  • Strong command of English and Chinese language is a must.
  • Ability to travel as necessary.
