Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Marketing & E-commerce, this role is responsible for developing and executing strategic merchandise strategies that support the objectives of our brands’ Tmall business in China.  Key responsibilities include providing input to the Merchandise team for online inventory purchases and managing in-season promotions to maximize sales and profitability.  The role is also responsible for overall site layout make sure that our brands and merchandises are well presented.  The incumbent has to work closely with internal and external partners including Merchandise team, third-party service provider and China E-commerce team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting including developing annual sales plan, KPIs and margin target
  • Develop seasonal sales and unit purchase plan
  • Develop themes for product features and visual merchandising on site
  • Communicate in-season promotions, markdowns and price changes to cross-functional partners for execution
  • Facilitate/Lead weekly sales performance review and seasonal hindsight
  • Work with cross-functional teams to determine opportunities for participation in special promotion events and recommend promotion offers
  • Monitor inventory levels and determine appropriate actions plans
  • Develop merchandise plan for Tmall special events and potentially for online exclusive catalogs
  • Be the point of contact within E-commerce team for product information including product price, testing results, labeling and product content
  • Support a collaborative, innovative and results-oriented environment with peers and cross-functional teams, including third-party E-commerce service provider, channel partners, US brand partners and local China E-commerce cross-functional partners

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • c, Merchandising or Buying.  Apparel and E-commerce experience is a must.
  • Flexible and adaptive to changing priorities, ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong communications skills with good proficiency in Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese) and English
  • Expertise with Microsoft Excel and ability or aptitude to learn in-house tools and applications quickly
