Job Description

Reporting to the Senior/Principal Environmental Consultant, you will be responsible for implementing various consultancy projects and providing consultation to stakeholders.

Your Next Challenge 

  • Organise and undertake tree surveys, landscape and visual (L&V) baseline surveys and L&V impact assessment works
  • Develop practical measures to avoid, minimise, mitigate and/or compensate for L&V impacts and enhance overall L&V quality
  • Formulate landscape designs, establish criteria and produce landscape master plans, as well as conduct landscape audit and site inspection for infrastructure and development projects
  • Take responsibility for project delivery including time, cost, co-ordination and stakeholder management
  • Liaise with clients and relevant authorities on project matters
  • Provide technical support in client, stakeholder and public consultations; act as technical expert and provide advice and solutions to meet clients' requirements
  • Participate in preparation of bid submissions and business development activities 

 

What You'll Need

  • Enthusiasm for creating a positive environment and improving people's lives
  • Degree holder with major in Botany / Arboriculture / Horticulture or Landscape-related discipline or equivalent; holding a Master degree would be an advantage
  • Around 4 years of practical experience in landscape design / L&V impact assessment works and/or tree surveys gained in consultancy or contractor setting
  • Demonstrable track record in consultancy projects including some or all of the following: L&V baseline survey and impact assessment, Landscape design (experience in hard landscape as well as soft landscape design will be an advantage); Tree survey and developing tree preservation or removal proposals; Habitat and vegetation survey for support ecological impact assessment
  • Successful experience of large complex multi-disciplinary projects will be an asset
  • Possession of recognized professional qualification in related discipline (e.g. certified arborist) is an advantage
  • Proficiency in computer graphics (e.g. PhotoShop, AutoCAD)
  • Good all-round communication skills and an interest in undertaking public consultations
  • Proactive, results-oriented, multi-tasker outlook
  • Track record in successful project delivery
  • An eye for detail and an appreciation of how landscape influences peoples’ experiences
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese
