Job Description

General Manager (design and sampling office) - based in Dongguan

My client is a renowned and multinational apparel manufacturer. The company is going through rapid expansion having diversified their business in an aggressive business plan. This person needs to be based in Dongguan.


  • Lead seasonal product development and ensure client's requirements are fulfilled
  • Negotiate with supplier/vendor on cost/delivery/specification etc.
  • Raw material management, including sourcing, developing, testing etc.
  • Formulate strategies for sourcing from different countries and reserve fabric capacity
  • Liaise with vendors and suppliers on technical issue or problem solving
  • Supervise and coach the team in R&D, costing, negotiating, production etc.
  • Maintain up-to-date market trend by attending trade shows etc.
  • Coordinate between teams of design, PD, merchandising, production etc.


  • Bachelor Degree or above in textiles, manufacturing, garment engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum of 10 years' of experience in garment manufacturing / production positions with at least 5 years in managerial/directorial positions
  • Preferably worked for garment manufacturers in the past, with excellent production process, machinery, technical and material control knowledge
  • Strong English & Chinese, verbal & written
