Accountable for the development, execution and stewardship of the organic and inorganic strategic and business development imperatives. Work closely with Regional and Country leadership, providing market and competitor insights that ultimately drive discussions and decisions that shape and refine the pan regional growth strategy for the businesses across Asia. Responsible for the origination, evaluation and execution of business development opportunities, inclusive of new market entry, acquisitions, competitor and market diagnostics, and looking into market opportunities, in partnership with country GMs, to accelerate organic growth plans. Proactively drive and own the ongoing development and refinement of the growth strategy, ensuring that strategic priorities and focus areas remain market and competitor relevant, evolving and responding to ever changing market dynamics. Provide ongoing regular market and competitor insights that are used by Asia’s leadership team and country general managers in driving decisions around strategic priorities, focus areas and tactical actions. Proactively maintain market and competitor coverage with a view to identifying opportunities that would accelerate growth plans, including activating bilateral discussions in support of potential new market entry, partnership and distribution opportunities. Conduct due diligence, synthesize results across multiple disciplines. Ensure due diligence concerns are addressed in transaction negotiation, transaction agreements and initial integration planning. Work closely with internal and external legal counsel and stakeholders in drafting and reviewing transaction documentation. Steward the Executive Committee, partnering with various executives to ensure discussions are focused, action items are executed on and strategic priorities are reflective of the Executive Committee discussions
To qualify, you will be a degree holder with a minimum of 12 years’ relevant experience in strategy or management consulting firm, corporate development group and/or private equity firm, with a strong focus on asset and wealth management sectors will be essential. Need to be familiar with the Asian landscape with recent experience in developing team members and enhancing team effectiveness. Exceptional interpersonal leadership and influencing skills, and ability to achieve goals without direct control over resources. Exceptional communication and presentation skills; prior experience presenting to and working closely with senior management. Strong quantitative skills, knowledge of valuation, and corporate finance issues related to M&A transactions. Very strong business acumen and highly developed communication and relationship skills. Previous Corporate Finance / Strategy/ M&A experience with a multinational company, investment bank, accounting firm, private equity OR strategy consulting firm. Fluency in English is required with Mandarin and/or Cantonese a plus.
