Job Description

Job Responsibilities

You will carry out analytical and reporting duties under guidance of experienced associates, which include:

  1. Update performance databases periodically, and utilize the data to produce surveys (e.g. MPF Performance Survey).
  2. Prepare investment monitoring reports. This will include liaising with fund managers / clients to collect and clarify data, updating excel spreadsheets to calculate various performance statistics, utilizing Mercer’s proprietary software for performance analysis, and preparing client ready reports.
  3. Support consultants in performing actuarial accounting and funding valuations on retirement benefit schemes
  4. Support consultants in ad-hoc projects, such as selection of investment manager, preparation of member briefing sessions, etc.
  5. Research on industry trends and support in marketing efforts, including preparing presentations, talking points and articles with guidance of senior team members

Job Requirements

  1. Progressing towards an undergraduate degree in Finance, Investment, Economics, Actuarial Science, or Statistics, with an interest in developing a career in a consulting firm.
  2. Strong financial / investment related knowledge; understanding of retirement market in HK will be a plus
  3. Good analytical and project management skills
  4. Able to work under pressure and cope with ad-hoc tasks
  5. Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite. Strong Excel skills, basic VBA will be a plus.
  6. Fluent in English and Cantonese. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Availability

  1. Expect candidate to be available for a period of 6 months (min of 3 months) on a full time basis (Monday to Friday). Expected start date of internship is January 2017. We welcome candidates who are available before the stated start date.
  2. Candidates who are available on a part-time basis will also be considered, but preference will be given to full-time candidates.
  3. Candidates who are only available on a part-time basis please state your weekly availability in the CV.
