Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Talk to and meet users to gather requirements and understand how they work now and they'd like to work in the future
  • Work with their IT colleagues and third party vendors to help develop and fine tune new and existing IT systems
  • Design, develop, validate and implement software applications to solve problems whilst coordinating with the Global Infrastructure team and considering infrastructure capabilities and capacity
  • Accountable for the support of local Asia Applications as well as Global Applications used by the Asia team
  • Serve as a change agent to help transition the Firm's legacy applications into solutions leveraging new technology that focus on process improvement and simplification
  • Review user stories and develop software solutions in short sprints with constant user involvement in an Agile minded team
  • Manage data integration between applications and third party solutions using various database technologies and/or middleware including but not limited to: stored procedures, SSIS packages, DTS packages or data integration middleware
  • Verify the security of third-party vendor's applications collaborating with them and the IT Security team to meet security requirements

Qualifications / Person Specification:

  • Experience in delivering enterprise software applications using common web-compliant technologies
  • Understanding of application support and administration, including patching, maintenance and log monitoring
  • Experience in building software solutions across a variety of Systems Development Life Cycles (SDLC) methodologies (e.g. Agile, Waterfull, Adhoc...)
  • Experience in delivering technology in an Agile fashion by encompassing: iterative and incremental delivery, Kanban, Scrum, direct user collaboration, feature driven development, agile testing, continuous development, etc.
  • Proficient in working with Windows Operating Systems (client and server), virtual technology, network protocols and overall good infrastructure knowledge
  • Required 3+ years technical experience of:
    • web development with the Microsoft Stack (.Net, ASP.Net, VB.Net, MVVM and MVC Patterns, C#)
    • SQL Server 2012 and later, including SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS); must have a thorough understanding of relational database concepts and the integration of SQL databases with other applications
    • Team Foundation Server (TFS) including: build / release engineering, management for software web applications, test manager and test automation
    • Custom Off the Shelf (COTS) software specifically with vendor management, installation, configuration, administration and upgrades
    • (2+ years) development in legacy technologies (e.g. VB, ASP)
  • Excellent English and Cantonese communication skills
  • Ability to work as an individual as well as part of a team
  • Strong business analysis skills, client services, and strategic thinking.
  • Willing to challenge the status quo
