Job Description

We are looking for candidate who has experience in Japanese Equities Settlement function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily settlement and clearance focus on Japanese equities and JPY index futures & options for institutional professional investors
  • Arrange funding and payment instructions for JPY equities settlement via SWIFT
  • Send daily trade confirmations and monthly statements to clients
  • Setup client master and sub-accounts in back office system
  • Ensure a smooth running of the day-end procedures, daily balance reconciliation, financial settlement including deposit and withdrawal
  • Follow up closely on unmatched and failed settlement instructions until trades are duly settled
  • Work on improving standard operating procedure to reduce operational risks continuously
  • Handle ad-hoc, miscellaneous, irregular, monthly and quarterly operations

Key Skills:

  • Must have prior experience in handling Japanese equities
  • University degree holder in Finance, Economics, or business related disciplines
  • At least 2 years of settlement operational experience in securities or brokerage firm, custodians or asset management (prior experience in overseas equities settlement is preferable)
  • Knowledge of the full settlement cycle of capital markets products is preferable
  • Hands on experience in operating CCASS
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Words, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Knowledge and experience in market systems like SWIFT, RTGS, etc is preferable
  • Attention to detail, accurate, punctual and customer-oriented
  • Self-motivated, responsible, independent, proactive, tenacious and a good team player
  • Willing to accept Japanese holiday schedule
