Job Description

Prenetics is one of the largest diagnostics and genetic testing companies globally. With a team of more than 400 and with over US$60 million in strategic funding from Alibaba, Ping An Ventures, New World Development and more, the group has been pivotal in the fight against COVID-19. To date, Prenetics has performed more than 2 million PCR tests in Hong Kong and in the United Kingdom. Prenetics works closely with both governments and came to international fame when it helped resume the season with the English Premier League and set up COVID-19 testing operations in airports globally, including Hong Kong International Airport and Heathrow Airport.

Furthermore, the group recently made an acquisition of an Oxford University spin-out company, whom had developed a rapid COVID-19 test, with accurate results in 20 minutes. The group also operates two leading direct to consumer DNA platforms, CircleDNA and DNAFit.

We are currently seeking an experienced, self-motivated finance professional who will be a key player in supporting Prenetics' group financial reporting and reporting processes and providing analytical support to help drive the Company's continued growth and global expansion. This position will be responsible for performing group financial reporting and digital transformation project to support our growth. You will be a well-rounded top performer with the desire to contribute and add innovative ideas to the expanding team. You don't mind working hard, are keen to take on responsibilities, and like the fast paced startup environment.

Responsibilities

Local Reporting 

  • Report to the VP of Finance;
  • Responsible for the Hong Kong entity’s reporting and group level’s consolidation reporting
  • Coordinate with local finance team on solving internal accounting issues, set up Accounting SOP and month end check list
  • Act as the key driver to plan the timeline across the group to deliver the financial reports within the reporting deadlines
  • Drive the finance team to deliver the monthly financials reporting pack to the senior management to facilitate decision making
  • Preparation of financial statements and ensure the reports comply with PCAOB standards and have sound knowledge of Sarbanes–Oxley Act;
  • Ensure the system of internal controls is properly maintained and followed;
  • Act as the key person for the digital transformation project in the finance department; work closely with IT team for the project development & implementation (i.e. ERP) while provide financial solution to the business for new initiatives, and work closely with cross functional teams
  • Manage audit and tax matters;

Group Reporting 
  • Collecting, interpreting and reviewing financial information
  • Handling intercompany transaction’s reconciliation to ensure the group level correctly eliminate requisite transactions at consolidation level
  • Handle complex accounting issue and liaise with both internal parties and external professionals to finalize valuation reports for audit purpose.
  • Drafting of annual/interim report, disclosure notes, and work closely with external auditor on external reporting
  • Alignment of COA cross all the subsidiaries and management report’s layout
  • Preparation of year end reporting template to facilitate & consolidate notes disclosures for year-end reporting compliance
  • Review procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure proper authorization for business activities
  • Support the Group Finance to review management reporting from subsidiary levels and facilitate in special projects, and work for process improvements;

System Implementation
  • Assist in the implementation and monitor activities of financial system projects
  • Participate in the group’s system implementation project and coordinate system changes.
  • Prepare project documentation including business requirements, business flow diagram and user manuals
  • Assist in provide technical support and training to users of financial systems in subsidiaries level

Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and /or Finance;
  • Professional accounting qualification (HKICPA or CPA or equivalent)
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in financial and managerial reporting, in which 2 years at managerial level, experience in listed company reporting is highly preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting standards and other regulatory requirements
  • Strong technical knowledge in international accounting standards and taxation regulations, good working knowledge on consolidation accounting, financial control management and planning
  • Independent with strong analytical skills and problems solving abilities; hands-on experience on SAP & NetSuite & Oracle related
  • Possess a team player with good interpersonal skill
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work in order to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to set a high bar for yourself and your team’s skill sets
  • Believe in honest and trustworthy behaviors
