Position Overview:
Allen Company Asia Limited is looking to enhance our logistics and supply chain management in Hong Kong.  The Logistics Specialist is responsible for coordinating shipments of goods between our global vendors and our US headquarters. This individual is also responsible for driving on time shipments, managing vendors’ shipping performance, and coordinating with forwarders / carriers for all shipment arrangements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with global vendors to follow up production status and updated delivery schedules
  • Coordinate with global vendors on shipment booking and containerization arrangement
  • Provide routing information and issuing shipping instructions to global vendors to ensure deliveries arrive on time and to their correct locations
  •  Work collaboratively with US Global Procurement team to review purchase order status, delivery schedules and containerization planning for order fulfillment
  • Coordinate and liaise with forwarders / carriers for shipment booking and arrangement
  • Monitor and evaluate forwarders / carriers service performance and provide recommendations on improvements to management
  • Follow up with global vendors on shipment documents availability to ensure timely submission and accuracy of documentation required for custom clearance
  • Assist in negotiation with vendors on extra transportation cost in case of consolidation, LCL, airfreight, trucking and follow up the respective approval procedure
  • Prepare and maintain delivery schedules and shipment reports and communicate to all relevant departments
  • Keep abreast of transportation / custom clearance procedures and regulations in China and Overseas countries
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Requires relevant knowledge of logistics and shipment process including follow up production schedules with vendors, arrange shipment booking, prepare containerization, review shipment documentations and requirement of custom clearance  
  • Good knowledge of ground, air and sea shipment process and international trading practices
  • Must be highly organized, detail oriented and logical, willing to adapt quickly to changing policies and procedures
  • Must be willing to do what it takes to get the job done
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Good interpersonal skills and a team player
  • Good written & verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
  • Performs other related duties as assigned 
Minimum Qualifications: 
  • High Diploma / Certificate in Logistics / Supply Chain Management
  • 2 - 3 years of logistics and shipping experience with consumer goods
  • Experience in working with global vendors for consumer goods preferred
  • Experience in logistics arrangement related to US market preferred
  • Experience in liaising with freight forwarder / carriers preferred
  • Epicor experience a plus
