Job Description

We are now inviting applications for the following post in the LiPACE:
Academic Support Officer (Ref.: 21000JM)
Major Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe appointee shall mainly be responsible for the following:

  • providing administrative support to the day-to-day operation for Academic Teams of LiPACE;
  • assisting in student admission, programme management, promotion and delivery;
  • handling applicants’/students’/instructors’ enquiries in accordance with the School’s policies and supervisors’ instructions;
  • providing logistics support to School’s functions and activities;
  • maintaining proper files and records; and
  • performing any other duties as assigned by the Dean (LiPACE) or his/her nominee(s).
Applicants are expected to possess the following qualifications, experience and attributes:

  • a recognized degree;
  • at least 1 year of relevant work experience;
  • good command of English and Chinese (preferably including Putonghua);
  • proficiency in computer applications;
  • a good team player and proactive with good organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills;
  • a student focused and service mindset; and
  • the ability to work independently.
Candidates may be invited to attend a written test.

Compensation Package
Competitive compensation package including basic salary, end-of-contract gratuity and discretionary incentive (if any) will be offered to the right candidate.  Fringe benefits such as generous annual leave, staff learning and development sponsorship, medical & dental benefits and life insurance coverage will also be provided.

Li Ka Shing School of Professional & Continuing Education (LiPACE)
The Li Ka Shing School of Professional and Continuing Education (LiPACE) is one of the six constituent schools of the Open University of Hong Kong. Originally established in 1992 as the Centre for Continuing and Community Education (CCCE) and renamed as LiPACE in 2000, it has carried out its original mission of serving the broadest range of learners in HK. LiPACE is now an established Vocational Professional Education and Training (VPET) provider of full-time post-secondary education and part-time professional and continuing education as well as corporate training. At the same time, it advances non-formal learning through its two flagship programmes for women and senior learners, the Capacity Building Mileage Programme (CBMP) and the Elder Academy Open University (EAOU).  Over the years, LiPACE has developed into an established and mature post-secondary, continuing and professional education provider which makes an important contribution to the University. It performs complementary but vital roles in fulfilling the University’s founding mission of providing education for all, as evidenced by the extensive range of disciplines covered and study levels of its programmes, as well as the diversity in age, nationality and occupation of its learners.
