Library Assistant (Special Collections) in the University Libraries (Ref.: 503783) (to commence as soon as possible, on a temporary term for 1 year)
Applicants should possess 5 passes in HKCEE including English (min. Grade C if Syllabus A/Level 2 from 2007) OR min. Level 2 or equivalent in 5 subjects in HKDSEE including English Language, OR a recognized certificate for library assistants OR in the area of digital library/information centre management, and preferably some relevant library experience. They should have excellent communication skills in written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); working knowledge of and skills in common software such as MS Office, presentation and visualization tools. They should be a good team player, detail-oriented, self-motivated and have a strong sense of responsibility. The appointee will assist in digitization projects of archival collections, including initial inventory and processing, scanning archival materials, metadata inputting and performing other duties as assigned by supervisors. Working experiences in Special Collections will be an advantage.
