About the Role

We're looking for a detail-oriented operations assistant manager to support our Supply Chain team to ensure smooth daily operations and support growth into new markets. The role encourages collaboration across disciplines from operations, logistics, manufacturing and vendor relations. The ideal candidate is self-starter comfortable wearing multiple hats in an environment that is deadline driven, fast-paced, highly collaborative, and ever-evolving. 

This role is a 6-month contract with the opportunity of a permanent position upon completion of the contract. Preference will be given to candidates who can start by June 1st.

Responsibilities

  • Supply Chain management. Responsible for the supply chain processes from sourcing strategy, supplier management, adherence to project timelines, maintaining consistency of supply. An approach focused on quality, delivery and cost. 
  • Logistics management. Responsible for order fulfillment, inventory control, sales orders and invoices for our e-commerce, corporate and wholesale POs.
  • Third party relations. Collaborate with our development team to build and grow relationships with suppliers. Manage agreements and negotiations with vendors responsible for manufacturing, transportation, and warehousing. Ensure that the agreed standard operating procedures are followed.
  • Operational strategy. Maintain and analyze data to assess supplier performance. Seek and implement operational improvements to optimize the use of the resources.

What we are looking for

  • Solid academic background in Supply Chain, Logistics or related field with at least 5 years relevant industry experience.
  • Past experience in International Logistics, Manufacturing or Sourcing is a plus.
  • Sound knowledge of customs regulations, international air and ocean freight (inbound and outbound) and retail fulfillment procedures.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin)
  • Reliable, independent, motivated and able to self-manage work flow with little supervision. A start-up/hustle/roll-up-your-sleeve mentality is essential.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and good with numbers. A talent for data analysis is a plus.
  • A love for process, problem solving complicated situations and a natural desire to simplify processes to optimize efficiency.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Have a good understanding of supply chain in order to manage the process effectively and liaise with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers and consumers.
  • Good understanding of e-commerce and IT systems used to keep track of stock levels, delivery times, transport costs, invoicing and performance evaluation.
