IT Officer/Technical Officer (holding the functional title of Game Developer) (several posts) in the Technology-Enriched Learning Initiative (TELI) (Ref: 503882) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with possibility of renewal)
Applicants should have at least a Degree/Higher Diploma in Computer Engineering/Computer Science/Multimedia or related discipline, with at least 2 years' proven work experience in game development. Solid experience in designing games using the Unity game engine is a must; knowledge of virtual reality (VR) application development and web 3D programming would be an advantage. Applicants should also have good problem-solving skills, communication skills and the ability to work under tight schedules.
The appointees will be responsible for developing applications for virtual learning of practical skills, such as laboratory skills (e.g. chemistry solutions mixing), surgical skills (e.g. stitching), nursing skills (e.g. wound care), patient care (e.g. communication with people with dementia and cognitive impairment) and etc. They are expected to develop applications with the use of gadgets such as VR headsets and VR gloves to provide learners with an immersive learning experience; work with other team members such as instructional designer, multimedia designer, UI/UX designer, game developer, frontend developer, and backend developer/operator to design and develop innovative educational technology and platforms (EdTech) applications for students and teachers; and develop his/her own area of specialty such as artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), learning design and etc. Applicants with more experience or qualifications may be considered for appointment as IT Officer.
