Job Description

The Assistant Chief Compliance Officer / Acting MLRO plays a critical leadership role in the compliance team of the Company. You, as the number 3 or 4 in the compliance team, will not only lead a group of compliance professionals but also play an influential role assisting the senior management decisions.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer and senior management, your main responsibilities include-

  • Advise senior management on the laws, rules and standards the group needs to comply with in relation to SVF, MSO and lending related businesses
  • Act as the secondary contact to HKMA and other regulatory and law enforcement bodies
  • Advise business teams on important regulatory circulars and guidelines
  • Assist business teams to prepare terms and conditions, as well as relevant compliance policies
  • Design and oversee the anti-money laundering and counter terrorist financing framework and programs including KYC, CDD, name screening and transaction monitoring protocol and procedure
  • Provide compliance-related training to the team and staff in the company
  • Mentor and help lead the compliance team, coach compliance professionals in the team
  • Involve in compliance review and testing, internal controls and advise on enhancements

Requirements

You would meet the following requirements-

  • Minimum 8 years' experience in compliance with a focus on corporate or private banking, financial institution or SVF businesses
  • Excellent communication and writing skills in English and Chinese
  • Strong understanding of compliance related laws and regulations e.g. experience in regulatory/law enforcement bodies shall be an advantage
  • Ability to build relationships and manage stakeholders internally and externally in a professional and friendly way is necessary for this role
  • Flexible, willing to cope with tight deadlines
  • Good stress management, like challenges and innovative, positive mindset
  • Have business sense, result oriented
  • Good communication skills, open minded and easy to work with
  • Team work oriented, and can serve as a member of the compliance team and the company
  • Keen to learn, humble and willing to cope with team work among various departments
  • Willing to take up responsibilities and commitments
