Job Description

Work for the internationally acclaimed wine critic James Suckling! Apply to become a Junior Chef / Kitchen Assistant at James Suckling Wine Central Restaurant & Wine Bar, James' latest flagship project in Asia’s wine capital Hong Kong! As World No.1 wine critic, James Suckling is looking for a passionate Junior Chef / Kitchen Assistant to join his dynamic team.

We are looking for a talented individual who enjoys working at an upscale restaurant environment and open kitchen surroundings. The 2,500-square-foot restaurant in Soho, Hong Kong has the most innovative wine program in the world including numerous curated tastings and events, the largest offering of wines by the glass, and a wine-friendly food menu.

Your main responsibilities are:

  • Food ingredients preparation
  • Cook food orders according to standard receipts and procedures (cold and hot food items)
  • Plating
  • Keep the kitchen tidiness and cleanness ( cleaning and sanitising)
  • Dishwashing occasionally

Requirements:
Ensure the highest standard of food preparation quality; ensure the highest standards of established hygiene & safety regulation to be maintained at all times. Only candidates with the right to work in Hong Kong may apply.

  • Basic culinary skills with a minimum of 1-2 years work experience in a similar position & kitchen operation in a hotel or restaurant
  • Good Hygiene Knowledge
  • Positive attitude, hard worker, punctual and diligent
  • Work and cooperate well with colleagues
  • Fluent in English
  • Hong Kong resident only
  • Immediately available

Benefits:

  • Competitive monthly salary of up to HK$18,000
  • 7 days annual leave + Statutory leave
  • 6 days off per month including Sundays
  • Dinner service only (5pm to 11:30pm, Mon - Sat)
