Job Description

The L&D Manager is responsible for creating and executing plans to design, develop and deliver learning initiatives for Global Sourcing (GIS) employees and leaders.  Working in close partnership with Global Supply Chain (GSC) Senior Director of talent management, GIS HR Business Partners and executive Business Leaders, the L&D manager is accountable for delivering solutions that build critical skills and competencies required to achieve measurable business results

 

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Talent leader and HRBPs to plan and implement innovative talent solutions that address organizational capability gaps and ultimately enable successful fulfillment of business goals and objectives

  • Partner with US counter-parts to co-create innovative learning and talent solutions and programs to address the training, development, and engagement needs of GSC group

  • Lead customization and implementation of Gap Inc. programs for the GIS audience  Project manage complex projects to ensure timelines, milestones and deliverables are met in accordance with project plan

  • Plan and lead the execution of the annual training calendar and curriculum for all key region by working closely with the geography L&D teams

  • On an as needed basis, facilitate learning solutions and customized learning experiences for client groups

  • Manage vendor relationships and the work of multiple vendors and subject-matter experts (SME’s) as needed 

  • Monitor the quality of delivery by business partners, providing coaching and support to ensure successful delivery of learning & org interventions

  • Anticipate and understand changing audience needs and business drivers and adapt to meet those needs

  • Use instructional design methodology and processes to support business objectives and drive results

  • Work with business partners to identify training needs and objectives

  • Provide L&D representation on cross functional initiative teams

  • Provide consultation internally to HR community on methodology and tools for talent development.

  • Develop and present training recommendations that leverage existing L&D resources and optimize in-market implementation and execution capabilities

  • Design and deliver “train-the-trainer” sessions for GIS HR business leaders to deliver learning solutions, as needed, in local markets

  • Take local learning styles and local business requirements into account when developing training recommendations

  • Market and communicate L&D solutions - create energy and awareness around offerings and support ease and simplicity around participation

  • Build credibility as a trusted advisor and strong partners with GSC leaders and HRBLs

  • Manage stakeholder relationships across GSC to align with the purpose and objectives of all strategies, plans, and initiatives of each business.

  • Take part in global L&D design projects, as required

  • Conduct training when appropriate to transfer capability; requires international travel approximately 10% of the time

 

Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years combined work experience in learning & development, instructional design, content development and delivery, and workshop facilitation,
  • Excellent instructional design and development skills
  • Excellent project management skills including the ability to effectively manage concurrent and competing priorities
  • Excellent facilitation skills and the ability to manage group dynamics
  • Excellent stakeholder, client relationship and communication skills
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong desktop, media and/or technology skills (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, MS Project, ability to create innovative training solutions, which may include pod casts, videos, etc.)
