Job Description

This role is responsible for executing the HSE strategy for Hong Kong, China & Guam.  Embedding a safety culture and working towards ZERO HARM. The role will work most effectively with line management and key business people, with in this role you will work as a team member with other OHS Practitioners globally driving a HSE community of practice for the business.


Responsibilities:

  • Continually review and assist in the development of HSE at a global level, implement and maintain the online safety management system consisting of various modules to manage safety, examples are compliance, risk, incident and hazard management, policies and procedures, audits, chemical management and training at the local level
  • Develop strategic programmed initiatives with the HSE Community of Practice team
  • Consultation with the Community of Practice team of core HSE programs impacting business operations as a result of legislative changes.  Roll out agreed changes at the local level impacted by change
  • Deliver HSE training when required to key people to upgrade skills and knowledge towards HSE practices
  • Manage risk exposure as a result of visits from external regulatory Health and Safety and Environmental Protection Authorities.
  • Roll out the implementation plan of the Group HSE Strategy to manage and control business risk exposure. 
  • Train key stake holders (Management) to carry out and site reviews within the business identities
  • implementation of risk assessments, auditing and site gapped programs to mitigate business risk
  • Review the quality of local site implementation of group HSE Strategy and risk mitigation programs
  • Manage compliance to local country Injury Management requirements, drive best performance results for early intervention to increase employee return to work without impacting the business or bottom line costs
  • Ensure local market business identities are reporting on reactive and non-reactive issues in a timely manner for the development and analyzing lead and lag performance indicators
  • Monitor the HSE KPI’s and report to the businesses performance results, areas of concern/successors for business performance and compliance

 
Requirements:

  • A minimum of five years’ experience is required managing or advising on business risks as either an OHS or Injury Manager
  • Good interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to influence management to change outcomes
  • Deliver a number of Health and Safety training programs
  • Conducted audit programs post roll out of new OHS policies and procedures
  • Understand the management of a holistic OHS System such as an International Standard
  • Assisted with employees returning to work after being absent from the workplace from a work related injury


Desirable Requirements:

  • Managed safety in an automotive or mechanical back ground
  • Proven track record in lowering incidents as a result of health and safety change in the workplace
  • Implemented cultural change programs across multi sites with successful implementation outcomes
  • Involved in taking a company from no compliance to self-managing health and safety
  • A drivers license (consider impact of managing multiple site locations)
