About Resolve Foundation

Resolve is one of Hong Kong’s newest non-profit organizations, founded in 2017 to provide a dynamic platform to empower future community leaders, particularly from marginalized and underrepresented groups, with the skills, network and resources for them to know, understand, and act upon their rights for the benefit of the communities they represent and foster a more inclusive Hong Kong.

We provide a signature Social Justice Fellowship Program combining leadership development, human rights education and campaigning skills. The Fellowship is now in its second year on the theme of ending gender-based violence together. Last year’s Fellowship was on racial equality and inclusion. We will announce the 2020 Fellowship theme on Human Rights Day on 10 December 2019.

Resolve stands for Rights, Equality, Solidarity, Organization, Leadership, Voice and Empowerment. Our vision is for a more inclusive Hong Kong, where every voice has a say in its future. Our fellows come from very different walks of life and have unique diversity stories and relationship to Hong Kong. Learn more about them and our work at www.resolvehk.org

Purpose and role

Resolve is looking for a full-time Media & Communications Officer to join our growing and collaborative team, supporting our fellows to get media coverage to make their voices heard in society and communicating to a wide array of audiences the value of Resolve’s fellowship model. This is a chance to be part of an up-and-coming NGO where you can leave a legacy, build the media capacity of emerging leaders and apply your communications skills to building a more tolerant society for all.

  • Brainstorm creative ways to build up our community of online supporters and followers and create a mobilized and engaged audience on our fellows’ stories, the issues that Resolve highlights in its fellowship, and the initiatives of our group of past and present fellows.
  • Assist, where needed, to prepare and translate quality communications materials for Resolve’s Social Justice Fellowship Program, for example, theme statements, fellow recruitment promotion and alumni network, to recruit high-quality fellows and mentors and attract donors and partners.
  • Handle administrative, tracking and evaluation work related to media and communications, including creating coverage reports, running analytics, monitoring media impressions and capturing clippings, and improving Resolve’s backend communications infrastructure.
