Job Description

Job Purpose: 

“To develop merchandise sales plans, sales/inventory analysis and sales target setting to maximizing business opportunities”

 

Key Accountabilities:

In addition to following Lane Crawford’s policies and procedures, key accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

 

Merchandise Sales

  • To participate in developing merchandise strategic direction planning and business planning, to align with Lane Crawford Omni-channel business strategies and objectives
  • To contribute in setting goals on stock turn, gross margin return on investment, gross profit margin, optimal total company and rolling inventory in line with approved strategies and business plans

Merchandise Performance Management

  • To write up merchandise policies, procedures and guidelines for management approval and ensure execution
  • To make recommendation for future system/report enhancement
  • To review, analyze merchandise management reports to alert potential problem and recommend action to management with special attention to optimal merchandisemix, individual brand performance and inventory management ensuring that CBO is on the right track in achieving the approved strategic direction and business plans
  • To review and comment on inventory planning and make recommendation to ensure the achievement of sales goals and company objectives

Partnership with Other Departments

  • To actively involve in Buy-Confirmation-Panel in liaising with CBO and SNO to ensure that right merchandises satisfying the customers’ needs are in place at the right time
  • To coordinate with FIN, ITD, CBO, CMC and SNO to ensure stores are having adequate stock of the basic items at all time.

Talent Leadership and Development

  • To role model and reinforce the Lane Crawford Vision and Values and Customer Service Promise at all times
  • To reinforce the LC heritage, Brand DNA and culture - storytelling and sharing success at every opportunity
  • To provide the necessary leadership, coaching and guidance to your team to ensure commitment to achieve the Department/BU plan and Individual Objectives
  • To personally demonstrate the LC Leadership Competency  behaviours and use these competencies as a tool to coach and develop team members
  • To fully participate in the PDP process, developing knowledge and understanding of team member strengths and development opportunities using Talent Profiles and IDP’s
  • To partner with HR/Talent to identify Departmental Talent Pipeline using the full suite of Talent Tools, supporting individuals with relevant learning and development opportunities to ensure success in current and future roles
  • To build a personal connection with each team member, taking time to understand them as individuals and identify ways to motivate, retain and engage
  • To take appropriate corrective action with employees who fall below standard (in consultation with HR Department)
