Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Hong Kong or China based Quality Assurance and Quality Control Manager is responsible for enforcing, monitoring and maintaining QA/QC across the organization with a large focus on product quality and social compliance.  This position is responsible for effectively managing 6 direct reports in both Hong Kong and China with emphasis around product quality/inspection and social compliance.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Proactively manages all aspects of QA/QC
  • Responsible for enforcing Vendor Compliance Program
  • Ensures Testing Program is being executed against properly and in a timely manner
  • Responsible managing all aspects of social compliance and all other required regulatory audits across the organization
  • Manages all internal and 3rd party product inspections
  • Maintains all relevant documentation procedures


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Proactively communicates quality standards to both internal and external stakeholders with the support of 3rd party labs
  • Analyze and communicate QA/QC metrics in an effective manner
  • All other duties as assigned


MINIMUM EDUCATION:

  • University Degree Holder in Quality Management or equivalent experience in related field


MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Quality Management; 2 years of which in a managerial role with a demonstrated ability to effective lead and manage a team
  • Proven ability to work in fast paced environment while juggling multiple competing tasks and demands
  • General understanding of all major US and Canadian rules, laws, bans and regulations as it relates to consumer products and other general department store merchandise
  • Proficient in Word, Outlook and Excel

 
KEY SKILLS:

  • Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • General understanding of consumer products and general department store merchandise
  • Experience with US big box retailers like Wal-Mart and Target
  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Mandarin
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand changing rules, regulations with the ability develop Action Plans and execute as needed
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to decipher larger amounts of information
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and critical thinking skills
  • Effectively able to lead, train and educate internal teams and external vendor partners


OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Job requires ability to travel throughout South East Asia primarily in China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia and India
