PEI (www.thisispei.com), the market-leading information and events business for alternative investment professionals, is currently looking to fill a role within its Research and Analytics (R&A) team. PEI has a global presence, with offices in London, New York, San Francisco and Hong Kong.

Through our R&A team, we deliver conclusive data, research and insight to the world’s alternative investment communities. Our clients are some of the most respected asset managers, institutional investors, investment banks and law firms.

The Research Associate forms part of a global team responsible for online intelligence services that track the flow of capital between investors and fund managers active in the alternative asset classes of private equity, private real estate, infrastructure and private debt.

The role is ideal for individuals with good written and research skills, high levels of self-motivation, excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to learn about the market to have informed conversations with senior executives and industry experts.

The Research Associate is primarily engaged in the following activities:

  • Corresponding with senior executives and industry experts via email and phone to capture granular insight on their investment activities and a wider view of the market.
  • Managing a series of investor and fund manager profiles which are featured on our database and are viewed by thousands worldwide. Ensure information is accurate and showcases updated information.
  • Writing high-quality factual copy to summarise the attitude of the investor / fund manager towards the asset classes.
  • Liaising with editorial and events teams to showcase our research and collaborate on cross-department initiatives.
  • Collaborating with researchers in Hong Kong, London, and New York to work on a series of rankings, surveys, and bespoke projects.
  • Maintaining knowledge of alternative assets via a range of intelligence sources.

Requirements

Experience and qualifications

  • Microsoft Excel – formulas, chart creation, data capture, data analysis
  • Teamwork – ability to work individually and as part of a team.
  • Communication – excellent spoken and written English. Proficiency in Japanese, Korean or Mandarin is advantageous.
  • Knowledge – a working knowledge of and interest in financial services is a distinct advantage.
  • Research skills – an inquisitive mind, excellent attention to detail, the ability to multitask, and a proactive and enthusiastic approach to work.
  • Education – degree educated.
