About our client

Our client is a British-founded auction company, headquarter based in the USA. They are looking for a Private Sales Director to represent the company's brand in the private sales business with a focus on the Asia Pacific market. You will participate in new business development, driving sales, building and strengthening relationships with clients, as well as the solicitation, authentication, evaluation and sale of properties. You will also liaise with global internal stakeholders to grow and develop the business.

Job Descriptions

  • You will have to cultivate new businesses by building and strengthening client relationships
  • Responsible for soliciting properties, as well as the authentication, evaluation and sales to meet profit targets for the Private Sale business
  • Grow and maintain sales & profit in Asia by achieving personal sales targets
  • Identify opportunities and generate ideas by liaising with the Global private sales team
  • Manage all categories in the private sales in Asia in Contemporary and Modern Art by liaising with specialists, relationship managers and department heads globally to ensure transactions are executed seamlessly
  • Act as an advisor to provide clients with trusted consultancy by prioritizing their interests and needs, as well as to facilitate introductions with an understanding of each art piece
  • Assist with coordinating internal meetings with global stakeholders to analyse available properties for private sale
  • Participate in exhibitions and events to develop new businesses by connecting with clients
  • Maintain general knowledge of company policies and procedures to ensure compliance, property shipments, and post-sale services are well performed and monitored

Requirements

  • Degree holder or relevant tertiary education, preferably in Art or related subjects
  • 5-7 relevant work experience with an expertise in the Contemporary and Modern Art market or relevant specialisms in areas of fine art
  • Possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills that shows professionalism in servicing clients, as well as to develop work relations internally as a team player
  • An existing client base required, as well as a pool of collectors, dealers and art communities, or any related stakeholders to generate profit in Private Sales in Asia
  • Be proactive, sociable and demonstrates good knowledge, as well as passion and commitment in the field to build trust and strong relationships with clients
  • Able to work under pressure and multitask in order to meet deadlines
  • Excellent writing and organizational skills
  • Fluent in English and Cantonese, the ability to speak Mandarin is preferred
