Sanctions - AVP to VP Level

Our client is a leading Retail and Corporate Bank with strong presence in the region.
about the job.
  • Developing, implementing and enforcing an adequate and consistent bank-wide Sanctions compliance framework under AML and Sanctions Program including preparing, maintaining, reviewing and improving current policies, regulations, guidelines, code of conduct and standards of good practice applicable to the Bank from Sanctions perspective.
  • Assist the Sanctions Head in coaching the Sanctions Compliance team, set standard for the conduction of relevant compliance work and enhance the performance of Sanctions Compliance.
  • Provide advisory support to business in the development, implementation and regular review of policies and procedures for their operations with due regard to all applicable relevant bank-wide and group wide policies and guidelines, statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage relevant examination and/or review being conducted by regulators, external consultants, external or internal auditors.
  • Manage regular tracking and remediation on all relevant outstanding AML/Sanctions regulatory issues or findings not yet solved or responded by the Bank.
  • Develop and review the Sanctions relevant systems to ensure they remain up-to-date and meet current statutory and regulatory requirements, ensure effectiveness and enhance the control and procedures if necessary.
skills & experiences required.
  • Degree holder in Law, Accounting or related disciplines
  • At least 5 years AML / sanction, or relevant compliance experience with track record in people management
  • experience in Sanctions compliance area in a sizable international financial institution and/or regulatory bodies
  • Good knowledge in banking laws, operations, products and services
  • Expertise in AML/CFT regulations and practices and have good understanding on regulators' expectation
