Job Description


To produce accurate financial statements on a timely basis and ensure compliance with relevant statutory and regulatory requirements. Ensure compliance of company’s travel policies and procedures



In addition to following Pedder Group’s policies and procedures, key accountabilities include, but are not limited to:


Administration and Internal Controls

  • Assist in maintaining the set up of Oracle Financials
  • Ensure proper and timely billing of subletting and other sundry income
  • Check monthly turnover report to landlords
  • Coordinate with auditors on sales certificate audit


Accounting Procedures

  • Perform accounting consolidation of various entities and financial reporting and performance analysis
  • Provide information and assistance for compilation of monthly flash reports
  • Monitor monthly accounts closing and ensure report submitted to management on a timely basis
  • Assist in preparation of quarterly board paper and supporting schedules
  • Perform monthly mass allocation for the accounts
  • Check vouchers prepared by subordinates
  • Check monthly tax computation, accounts reconciliation and schedules
  • Follow up outstanding items in the monthly accounting reconciliation
  • Prepare group balance sheet, cash flow statement and capital expenditure status report for inclusion in pg’s monthly management reporting package
  • Check debit and credit notes issued and follow up the collection of sundry receivables
  • Liaise with other departments for information required for accounting purposes
  • Prepare draft audited accounts
  • Prepare year end consolidation package to corporate office
  • Liaise with auditor and follow up with annual audit issues


Compliance and Business Integrity

  • Ensure that all financial practices are sound and in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards and prevailing legislation as well as company guidelines, policies and procedures
  • Coordinate with other divisions / departments on strengthening internal control systems
  • Ensure that subordinates and counterparts understand and are complying with the procedures and processes


Team Leadership

  • Demonstrate and reinforce the Pedder Group Vision and Values at all times and provide the necessary leadership to gain commitment from subordinates
  • Identify and execute ways to increase team member’s loyalty, satisfaction and pride with the Pedder Group experience
  • Represent Pedder Group at all times and build relationships that will benefit the business 
  • Build strong internal communications and facilitate an open working relationship amongst all departments and corporate finance to ensure that the company has full support to meet and exceed the sales and profit targets
  • Reinforce the company message to the team and reinforce the need to drive profitability at Pedder Group through value added activities and better efficiencies
  • Provide on the job coaching to ensure that the finance team are able to meet and exceed the requirements of their role
  • Identify and facilitate opportunities for additional training for the team
  • Monitor and review performance of team with the Assistant Financial Controller
  • Recognize, reward and celebrate success with the team, stores and other functions



  • 6-8 years of relevant experience of relevant experience, focusing on FA, preferably in the retail industry
  • Experience in accounting consolidation of different entities is highly preferred 
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant
  • Exceptional communication skills to establish rapport with key stakeholders, both local and overseas
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in English is a plus
  • Knowledge of Oracle is a plus
  • Strong leadership to mentor and develop team members
  • Immediate Available is preferred
