Job Description

We are now looking for a dynamic, energetic and innovative professional to join our contracting business as Senior Manager – Contracting Business. Reporting to the General Manager – Contracting Business, the appointee will assist in implementing the strategic business plan of the company and developing new businesses opportunities. Key responsibilities include: 

  • Direct and control the contract activities of the company relating to the delivery of engineering projects to meet programme dates and standards of quality required by the customers in order to achieve target revenues and profits
  • Develop and recommend projects, which will produce the required level of return on investment with acceptable risk exposure
  • Negotiate service and supply contracts with the customers, suppliers and subcontractors within the business scope of CLPe Slotuions, which will be in the best long-term interests of CLPe Solutions.
  • Review contract terms and conditions and specifications. Plan, coordinate and prepare competitive tenders to bid for those projects identified to fall within CLPe Solutions’ capability
  • Monitor the procurement of services and goods to support CLPe Solutions in tendering and projects implementation from suitable subcontractors and suppliers for the contracting projects
  • Team up with experts of other Departments of CLP Power, the sister Company to provide end-to-end services to strategic customers to maximize short-term and long-term value of CLPe Solutions
  • Form, nourish and build external strategic alliances with external business partners in electrical & mechanical engineering consultancy, contracting services and supply of materials for the contracting projects. Manage alliance agreements for mutual benefits and business exploration and diversification. Internally build up core competencies

 Requirements

  • A recognized university degree in Engineering discipline
  • Professional qualification from HKIE or other recognized engineering professional bodies
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with at least 5 years in managerial role
  • Possession of in-depth and broad technical expertise, sound knowledge of commercial and financial evaluation techniques and statutory knowledge
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the relevant market, customers and competitors, with ability to identify new niche markets, minimize commercial risks and develop new business opportunities for complex technical projects
  • Performance driven and innovative
  • Good communication skills and able to develop networks, build relations, negotiate and sell to senior government officials, business partners, consultants, developers, suppliers, contractors, internal and external customers in both local and overseas markets
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese
