Job Description

As part of the Global Materials Supply - Asia Team, the COE Analyst- Global Materials Supply will support the Material leaders in strategy development within the material supply function resulting in value creation (i.e., cost prediction, savings and avoidance).  This role is a key member of the Analytics Centre of Excellence (COE) supporting Global Material Supply organizations. The individual will support the team and Material leaders in building and developing a cohesive materials strategy that maximizes “One VF” scale in leverage through analytics and brings a procurement mindset to the organization. The role has extensive focus on analyzing and presenting data related to market trends (raw material, labor and overhead market trends/indicators) and be the primary manager of, MPCi tool, “clean sheet” fabric cost analytics tool, as well as material price reports.

Responsibility

  • Cost Breakdown Model
    • Refine the costing model by adjusting current assumptions to factor accurate input costs from suppliers
    • Shift suppliers from current costing approach to costing model by supporting in the change management
    • Rationalize costing gaps in the costing model by validating input costs and ensuring accuracy of information
    • Implement new costing process with brand material develop team, suppliers and GMS
  • Costing Focus (Clean Sheet, RFQ Consolidation, Negotiation packet, etc.)
    • Be the primary manager of “Clean Sheet” fabric cost analytics tool, update commodity cost input, maintain and continue to improve the tool to maximize the accuracy of fabric costing analysis
    • Conduct RFQ consolidation analysis to support Material leaders on negotiation activities
    • Accurately reflect yarn weaving, dyeing and processing costs into the clean sheets
    • Support Material team to troubleshoot and fix issues arise from the tool
    • Support Material leaders and team to generate Negotiation packet using MPCi output and outcome of RFQ consolidation analysis
    • Provide support for development fabric costing
    • Provide training for fabric costing to GMS, Brand Materials team and suppliers
    • Support in supplier workshops to better understand various direct and indirect cost elements in the production environment
  • Project Management
    • Lead different GMS internal improvement projects/initiatives (process and data related), including develop project plans, ensure on time deliverable, track and analyze project measurements
    • Drive process and data harmonization within GMS across different coalitions for better leverage and visibility
    • Participate as SME (Subject-Matter Expert) from GMS to support cross team projects

Requirements:

  • At least 4 years post college or relevant experience
  • Experience in Apparel & Equipment, footwear and/or sourcing and supply chain organizations is a plus
  • Excellent analytical and facilitation skills
  • Is a team player and has demonstrated ability to collaborate across distances and organizational lines
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment to meet multiple deadlines
  • Strong Microsoft excel and Power point presentation is required. Other software skills is a plus.
