Job Description

Responsibilities:

Commercial Management

  • To support the line manager in developing and communicating the annual business plan and strategy in achieving the agreed sales and profit targets in line with company and business unit objectives
  • To support the manager in planning on strategy and key deliverables a year ahead
  • To study and monitor the business regularly and recommend or call out necessary actions to the immediate manager to ensure performance meets the agreed targets
  • To support the line manager to implement merchandise and sales planning controls to achieve sales plan and gross margin plan (include monitoring of open to buy (OTB) spending and season end mark down (MD) suggestions)
  • To be proactive in understanding the competition, market trends and take necessary action to maximize Lane Crawford market share
  • To support the line manager in growing key strategic brands by analyzing and developing commercial terms (i.e. business plan: sales, OTB, margin) for brands
  • To research and monitor both macroeconomic, market trends and develop insights & provide solutions on how these trends impact buying team
  • To identify opportunities to grow the business and mitigate the risk to ensure smooth implementation of merchandise plan
  • To support the teams in overseeing and communicate with stakeholders’ updates and progress of in season projects, and programs

Relationship Management

  • To support the line manager in applying commercial skills and work with buyers on negotiating with brands on maximum gross profit % (GP%)
  • Act as supporting role of the assigned Department to work closely with Merchandise Planning team in setting and executing the strategic merchandise and sales plans
  • To work closely with all relevant departments to drive, execute and follow through business initiatives to improve sales and meet business goals
  • To openly communicate with Stores and get monthly on the business 
  • To build and manage strong partnership with local and international concession vendors

Requirements:

  • Degree holder with a minimum 3-4 years of buying experience in retail industry, preferably with luxury Furniture/ Lifestyle experience
  • Able to deal with principals and vendors effectively
  • Proven experience in managing multiple brands
  • Proactive, figure sensitive and attentive to details
  • Strong analytical ability with excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Excellent command in both written and spoken English, Cantonese and/Mandarin
  • Proficient in all Microsoft applications
  • Immediate availability preferred
