The Office of Service-Learning (OSL) is looking for creative and proactive innovators to develop and promote stimulating learning programmes for students in the form of projects, research, workshops, events and overseas academic activities. Service-Learning at Lingnan is supported by a vibrant academic community that is enthusiastic about empowering students to apply their knowledge to drive innovation, growth and social prosperity for global impact. OSL supports about 50 local Service-Learning courses during Fall and Spring terms and collaborates with top universities around the world to offer global Service-Learning experiences in more than 5 countries every Summer.
Successful candidate will be working in a team of 7 nationalities, speaking 8 different languages, and with diverse expertise from science to social sciences, engineering to education, and management to marketing. Over 70% of the team has international work or academic experience, and 5 members received full-time PhD training from world top 50 universities. Preference will be given to candidates with extensive international exposure. Candidates with good knowledge of Service-Learning, problem-based learning, MOOC, STEM, liberal arts education, or innovation and entrepreneurship education will be advantageous.
The appointee will be assigned to one or more of the following tasks based on individual interest and expertise:
(a) designing and implementing Service-Learning projects;
(b) constructing creative and effective material (online and printed) for teaching and knowledge exchange;
(c) organizing interdisciplinary summer and overseas programme;
(d) incorporating undergraduate research experience into Service-Learning;
(e) liaising with faculty and community partners to develop high impact projects;(f) networking with international partners to develop joint courses and programmes;
(g) designing appropriate metrics for evaluating programme impacts;
(h) conducting workshops, field research, tutorials for students; and
(i) developing STEM and innovation and entrepreneurship education programmes.
(i) a recognized full-time Bachelor or Master degree from reputable universities, with at least 4 years relevant experience, preferably in the tertiary education sector; (ii) excellent command of written and spoken English; (iii) proactive working attitude with good interpersonal, project management and communication skills; (iv) good analytical skill to perform administrative duties independently, efficiently and under tight working schedule; (v) high competency in MS office and webpage applications; (vi) good knowledge of online teaching platform and online course development; (vii) experience in organizing summer camps and overseas programmes in tertiary education sector; (viii) extensive international exposure; and (ix) genuine interest in making sustainable impact.
Candidates with less/more experience will also be considered for appointment at a relevant rank.
Salary and Benefits
The rank and commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund and gratuity.
